Strictly's Dianne Buswell and Joe Sugg's romance continues to heat up this year — with the couple facing an incredibly busy year together.

From red carpets to moving house and grillings over their relationship, they have remained one of the favourite celebrity couples in the UK.

But this weekend fans were devastated to see Buswell was in tears after her emotional dance with Bobby Brazier on Saturday night, saying: "He has been my massive rock this week, so thank you."

Social media was awash with unsubstantiated fears that she had split from Sugg when in fact the couple have gone from strength to strength this year — with moving house and hopes of a marriage proposal.

Buswell in tears on Strictly

Youthful 20-year-old Brazier said he was falling in love with Buswell, 33, at the Pride of Britain red carpet earlier this week, creating a buzz around the infamous Strictly curse.

Emotions reached fever pitch on Saturday night's show after the Strictly couple caused a stir with their Tango to Fashion by David Bowie.

After the dance, Brazier explained how he felt: "Emotional. It has been so, so emotional, all week but yeah closing the show is a great privilege. Before I was trying to get in the zone and I was bringing all these emotions up and I just wanted to give her a big cuddle."

After their performance, Buswell’s long-time love Joe Sugg gave his support to them by sharing sweet words on their dance on Instagram: "Love it. Incredible."

Everyone has been very invested in Buswell and Sugg’s romance since they went public with their love for each other in 2018 following their appearance on the show.

While they didn’t win the Glitter Ball trophy in 2018, Buswell and Sugg won each other’s love. After being apart at Christmas, they have had an incredibly busy start to 2023 — with moving house, holidays and talk of marriage…

Why Buswell and Sugg spent this Christmas apart

The couple spent their last Christmas apart after Buswell jetted across to Australia on her own to enjoy the festivities with her family while Sugg stayed with his family in the UK.

Buswell was unable to spend Christmas Down Under for the two years prior to this as the world was going through the Covid lockdowns in 2020 and in 2021 she contracted Covid.

They spent their first Christmas together as a couple in 2018 apart when Buswell made the trip to Oz alone.

Speculation was wild that the couple had split up at the time but they were quick to reassure fans their romance was going strong.

Buswell said on social media: "I honestly feel so so lucky I'm in Australia with the best family a girl could wish for and I have a very special somebody waiting for me when I return to the uk @joe_sugg I hope everybody out there has the most amazing Christmas spent with loved ones and having the best time sending you all joy and happiness merry Christmas you amazing lot."

Speaking from Australia around that time, Buswell admitted she couldn’t see herself making the move to Oz any time soon — although she does love it.

She told HELLO in January: "I do love it over here, and I love that all my family are here, but I honestly can’t see it happening any time soon. I love the UK and how much of my work is there, and I love that Joe’s there, and his family. I mean, never say never... but not right now."

Marriage

Marriage could be on the cards for the celebrity couple, who have been going strong for five years now.

Wearing her heart on her sleeve, Buswell said it would be “great” if Sugg popped the question when asked about marriage in an interview in March.

Asked if marriage was on the cards, she told The Mirror: “We haven’t really spoke about it, so if it happens, great. If not, we’re happy with how things are going.”

Moving house

In July earlier this year, they marked another milestone as they moved house again.

They have settled into their gorgeous £3.5million five-bed home in Brighton, formerly owned by football player Lewis Dunk.

Saying goodbye, they moved out of their four-bed detached home which they put on the market for £1.35million.

"We loved the last place, but it was a project, it was a big project," he said on social media, explaining the move.

"We haven't got the time to take on such a big project, so we found this place, we absolutely fell in love with it and now we are here.”

Holiday romance

Lovers Buswell and Sugg both shared romantic pictures from their break in Kraków, Poland in July, shortly after their big move.

They played tourists while sightseeing and exploring the mountains as they made the most of their quality time together, knowing that soon Buswell would be thrown into the gruelling Strictly Come Dancing training.
