Strictly's Giovanni Pernice reunites with Rose Ayling-Ellis amid show return
Strictly Come Dancing is back with a whole new host of celebrities competing for the 2023 series trophy, but Giovanni Pernice has still found time to hang out with Rose Ayling-Ellis.
The pair competed in and won the 2021 series, and created one of the show's most iconic moments when they danced without music in a powerful routine that raised awareness for the Deaf community.
In an Instagram Story, Giovanni and Rose's shadows on the ground waved to the camera, with the professional dancer asking his fans who they thought was with him.

In a follow-up video, Rose revealed that it was her, but decided to wind up her former dance partner by introducing herself as Rebecca, much to his confusion.
Strictly aired its 2023 launch episode over the weekend, confirming all the celebrity and professional dancer partner pairings, and this year Giovanni is with Sherlock actress Amanda Abbington.
Although he'll be competing with Amanda for the win, Giovanni won't be involved in all the group dances that the pros take part in, as he injured his ankle back in July and had to miss out on the rehearsals and some pre-recordings.

At the time, he stated: "As you probably know, I'm on tour at the moment with Anton. During one of the dances, I twisted my ankle on stage – I've been to the physio today and he advised me to rest for a few weeks.
"This means I'm not going to be able to dance at the weekend – I know a few people are coming – but I will still be there to entertain all of you with Anton… This also means I'm going to miss a few of the professional Strictly group numbers."
Strictly Come Dancing returns for its launch special on September 16 on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
