Strictly Come Dancing star Janette Manrara has apologised after making a blunder on live television.

The star, who hosts It Takes Two, appeared alongside Gethin Jones and Michelle Ackerley on Thursday’s (June 20) episode of Morning Live, but had an amusing moment as financial expert Laura Pomfret began her segment.

As the presenter began, a faint noise could be heard in the background, with Janette’s baby monitor for daughter Lyra going off as Gethin intervened, with the presenter saying: “Hang on a minute, hang on a minute. Let's stop the baby monitor on Janette’s phone before we carry on.

“Stop trying to hide it. She opened the WhatsApp group,” he added, with an embarrassed Janette adding: “Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry. She’s [her daughter, Lyra] okay, it’s fine.”

The clip was uploaded to Morning Live’s Instagram account, with the caption reading: “When live TV doesn’t always go to plan!!! #LiveTV #MumGoals.” The video also included another message, which read: “When you try and help people with their overdrafts but baby calls.”

Janette, who welcomed baby Lyra with husband Aljaž Škorjanec in July, also added a comment to the video, replying: “Oh gosh! Apologies everyone. Always love having her by my side though, even at work. And yes, she is all okay.”

“It’s why I watch the show! Feels like a family, real people, so cute the genuine concern. Xx” added another fan, with a fourth remarking: “Brilliant, Beautifully Human and part of why we all love Morning Live .”

Strictly Come Dancing will return later this year on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
