Strictly Come Dancing star Katya Jones has likened the furore around her kiss with Seann Walsh to Brexit, complaining it has dragged on for too long.

The professional dancer’s marriage to fellow dancer Neil Jones was rocked last year, after a picture emerged of her kissing comedian Walsh, her partner on the BBC show last year.

Katya, 30, and Neil appeared on ITV’s This Morning to talk about appearing together in West End show OMNIUM: A Dancer's Dream, which tells the story of their relationship. The couple looked stony-faced when host Phillip Schofield brought up the kiss.

Katya replied: “I wonder what is going to drag on longer , this or Brexit?”

Neil added: “We have moved on and this show is just a celebration of the great times we have had together.”

The couple, who tied the knot in 2013, revealed they will celebrate their 11 year anniversary of when they first met in Blackpool at the end of this month.

And they insisted Katya’s dalliance with Walsh will not be included in the stage show.

Katya said: “Well luckily the show is just literally our career from when we started and up until the world championships so it’s purely about the ballroom couple trying to achieve their dream of being the best and of course the love story.”

After the photo of the kiss emerged Walsh split from his actress girlfriend Rebecca Humphries. She then took to Twitter to accuse him of being verbally abusive and controlling towards her, sparking a national debate about gaslighting.

Both Katya and Walsh apologised publicly for the kiss but were voted out of the BBC show a week later.
