BBC Strictly Come Dancing's professional dancer, Katya Jones, has opened up about her fears of her 'maternal clock' ticking as she approaches the age of 35. During a podcast, she expressed her concerns about balancing love and motherhood.

When asked if she had considered how time might impact her chances of having children, she replied: "Yes. Modern females of our age, we can have careers, pursue our passions. Be happy and fulfilled on our own. However, on the other side, it doesn't stop our maternal clock or our ageing process, unfortunately. So how do you balance those two things? ".

She shared these concerns while chatting with friend and Olympic snowboarder, Aimee Fuller, on her Monday Mile podcast during a holiday in Australia. They discussed not only the challenge of juggling careers and motherhood but also the significance of female friendships, according to the Mirror.

The conversation came after Katya found herself targeted by internet trolls following a scandal in 2018 when she was photographed kissing comedian Seann Walsh, her dance partner on Strictly at the time, who was in a relationship with someone else.

This incident occurred shortly before her split from ex-husband Neil, who has since welcomed a daughter named Havana with Love Island contestant Chyna Mills last year, reports the Manchester Evening News.

The Strictly star, who was last seen partnering with Casualty's Nigel Harman on the dance floor, has spoken out about distancing herself from online negativity. She shared her approach: "I have totally learned to disconnect from it. What matters to me is us walking right now, you knowing who I am."

"My family knowing and loving me for who I am. But would I like to add value to the world? Yes. And I already do it in some ways. I think I make people happy because that's what Strictly does."
