A 'highly respected' restaurant, inspired by the stunning views of Italy, is up for sale. La Vague offers traditional Italian food and serves breakfast, lunch, and coffee and cake.

Overlooking the River Trent in Gunthorpe, the business was established in 2006 and has been in the hands of Anouar Zouaghi since 2020. He changed the name from Biondi Bistro and renovated the property, investing in top of the range equipment along with designer furniture which are all included in the sale price of £194,995.

It is "a huge plus for any new purchaser as additional funds will not need to be spent for some time," according to commercial property agent Vertitas Business Sales. Mr Zouaghi is selling the restaurant, in Trentside, due to other business interests requiring his attention.

The restaurant has one full time member of staff and four part-time. The menu includes starters of gamberoni king prawns and calamari and mains such as pasta, risotto, steak, fish, burgers and pizzas. It is also licensed, selling wines, beers and spirits.

Recent reviews for the restaurant include "Always met with a smile and lovely food" and "This is my favourite place to eat and relax. I only wish we had better summer days to enjoy this amazing restaurant by Gunthorpe Lock."

The agent said trade could be increased by opening in the evenings. La Vague currently closes at 6pm. "The business enjoys a strong reputation within the local community and beyond and as such has a high level of regular and repeat trade.

"We believe that there is further opportunity to increase trade simply by opening the restaurant in the evenings and trading seven days a week. You could also host more private parties and events such as birthdays, anniversaries and small weddings which would take advantage of the huge amount of space and scenic views. This is a superb opportunity to purchase an established business which is sensibly priced."

A total of 16 years remain on the 20-year lease, with a rent of £16,000 per year.
