Bexley will become home to a stunning new butterfly house where you can get up close and personal with the beautiful creatures in the walkthrough exhibit.

London Butterfly Gardens welcomes visitors for the first time on Wednesday, July 10, at Hall Place and Gardens.

The recently revamped Glass House is now home to hundreds of butterflies and promises an awe-inspiring experience for visitors, seven days a week from 10am to 5pm.

After the autumn half term, it will be open from 10am to 4pm.

The newly designed butterfly house hopes to provide a vibrant and sustainable environment for butterflies.

Visitors can enjoy a serene pond and waterfall, both restored, along with the new planting areas.

As part of the upgrade, the entrance area is also morphing into a vibrant retail space showcasing an array of butterfly-related products so that you can take home a gift or souvenir.

London Butterfly Gardens, which took over in February, aims to create an educational experience for visitors, but also a haven for the insects.

The former butterfly house also received a makeover, set to reopen as 'The Living World' in the summer.

This exhibit uncovers the hidden world of jungle insects including leaf and stick insects, praying mantises, jungle nymphs, katydids, spiders, leaf cutting ants and more.

Tickets grant access to both sections - the Living World and London Butterfly Gardens.

These attractions accommodate wheelchair accessibility.

Tickets cost £8.50 for adults and £7.50 for children on the door.

Prices drop to £7.50 for adults, £6.50 for children and £2.50 for under 5s for tickets pre-booked online and discounts apply for online bookings as well as Blue Light Card Holders.

While the Living World is getting ready to open, entry to the Butterfly Gardens will reduce by £1 each on all tickets, with exception of under five-year-olds.
