‘Succession’ Cousin Greg Spinoff? Here’s What Nicholas Braun Has To Say — Emmys Red Carpet

Who is going through a bad case of Succession withdrawal?

As we await the next big thing from Succession creator Jesse Armstrong, we all pine for a spin-off surrounding any of the characters. That said, the future adventures of Nicholas Braun’s cousin Greg would be damn funny.

“I’ve never heard that, I didn’t know anybody was looking for that!” Braun told us on the Emmy red carpet tonight; the actor up was for his third supporting actor in a drama series Emmy nom, however, his fellow series rival Matthew Macfadyen just won at the time of this post. Macfadyen thanked Braun onstage who he referred to as his “second on-screen wife”.

“I’m just joking,” said Braun about the idea of a spinoff around his goofy scion, “It’s only mentioned to me a hundred times.”

If there was a Greg spin-off, Braun asserts he “would do it.”

But then pouring cold water on it: “If Jesse wanted to do it in any way, I would. He doesn’t, so I won’t. If he wants me to do anything at all in my life, I’ll do it.”

Then fessing up, Braun admits, “I don’t think he has an angle.”

“He wrapped it up so well, you don’t want to change something else.”

HBO’s Succession counts 14 Emmy wins and is up again tonight for Outstanding Drama Series.
