The trailer for the final ever episode of Succession was released on Monday, 22 May and fans of the show are besides themselves over what it could mean for the show's ending.

In the teaser clip sees Roy siblings Kendall (Jeremy Strong) and Roman (Kieran Culkin) prepare themselves to go up against their sister Shiv (Sarah Snook) at the Waystar Royco board meeting, which is the stage for the final battle for the company.

Alexander Skarsgard's Lukas Matsson warns that things are "going to get nasty" in the process of the meeting, where Kendall and Roman hope to tank the GoJo mogul's deal for good, and where Shiv is determined to support her future overlord.

Another fan of the show was ecstatic by the preview, writing: "the absolute SCREAM i just let out at the end of that trailer for the succession finale… i know i will never ever be the same [sic]."

One person commented on how the trailer incorporated scenes from the show's intro, adding: "the way there were so many flashes to the intro scenes in the succession finale trailer was really poignant but also like what if we see more of this childhood footage in the season finale that could hit so hard."

There was one user who joked about the potentially misleading nature of the trailer by sharing a still of a brief moment Skarsgard was shouting, and wrote: "Succession fans will be dissecting this shot from the finale trailer for the rest of the week and then it won’t be in the episode."

Another viewer called the teaser clip "insane" as they added: "putting the opening theme footage of the roy kids, the heightened emotions of everyone, im not ready [sic]."

While one person wrote: "based on the trailer i think the succession finale is going to be my favorite style of episode, which is Lots of People In One Room Arguing."

There was a viewer who did begin dissecting blink-and-you'll-miss-it moments from the trailer, sharing two stills of Roman and Lukas and writing: "So series finale @succession trailer has these two clips. Does Roman do something to send Mencken into that rage? Do the good guys win? Is Greg destined to climb to the top of the pile? I’m gonna miss these crazy kids."

The Succession season 4 finale will air on Monday, 29 May on Sky Atlantic, the episode will come out at the same time as it airs in the US on HBO and then again at 9pm.
