Suits star Patrick J Adams has revealed he would love to do a spin-off show with co-star Meghan Markle.

Speaking to E! News at the Golden Globe Awards alongside Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty and Gina Torres on Sunday (January 7), Adams called the Duchess of Sussex a "fantastic actress", adding that he would love for the pair to reprise their roles for a spin-off.

"I think Meghan is a fantastic actress. We'd be lucky to have her back in the industry," he said.

"Let's go, I'd do it. I'm ready. Mike and Rachel in Seattle."

Adams' comments come as the legal series has seen a huge resurgence alongside fans following its addition to Netflix and Peacock last year, breaking multiple streaming records as viewers opted to rewatch the series.

Speaking about Suits' renewed popularity, Adams revealed he is honoured by viewer interest.

"I'm totally astounded it's found a second life," he said. "I feel honoured.

"When you walk away from a show, you think that's it and you're going to move on to something else and just to know that a whole new generation of people are finding it and loving it – loving it almost more than they loved it the first time around, it's incredible."

Markle recently shared her response to the streaming numbers last November, saying "good shows are everlasting".

"Isn't that wild? It was great to work on, such a great cast and crew. We had a really fun time," Meghan, who played Rachel Zane on the series, said during Variety's Power of Women event.

She added that she had "no idea" why Suits was undergoing a resurgence in popularity.

"It's hard to find a show you can binge-watch that many episodes of these days," she continued. "So that could have something to do with it. But good shows are everlasting."

Suits can be streamed in its entirety on Netflix in the UK and on Peacock in the US.
