Suits star Sarah Rafferty on cast group chat response to Netflix success
Suits' Sarah Rafferty has spoken about the cast's reaction to the show's recent resurgence in popularity.
The American legal drama wrapped up in 2019, but its addition to Peacock and particularly Netflix this summer has led to it racking up a huge number of streams and achieving a new level of public interest.
Speaking to People, the Donna Roberta Paulsen actress spoke about how the cast have discussed the show's second life on streaming in their group chat.

"Somebody sent one of the articles that said 'billions of minutes [streamed]', and everybody was like, 'Wait, what?!'" she recalled.
Rafferty added that she was "gobsmacked" at the three billion viewing minutes figure, and said that she couldn't "really metabolise that in a real-world kind of way".
"I'm incredibly grateful, because our world sometimes right now feels like it's growing increasingly dark and fractured and limited in moments, and I think that it helps — it makes me feel good," she explained.
"It's just as simple as that — to know that this thing that we worked on for 10 years is providing escape for people, or providing connection, meaning, in any way, shape, or form. And if that's just having a break from the news of the world, I'll take it."

It's not just that a lot of people are now watching Suits, but people from different generations, including "kids who were eight when the thing came out".
Recalling a recent moment where a mother told her that the show helped her connect with her son, Rafferty concluded: "I'm being cheesy, but it gives me kind of a lump in my throat that I get to be a part of something, that small part of something that does that for a family."
Suits can be streamed on Netflix in the UK and US, and on Peacock on the US.
