Yahoo News Suits star thinks the axed show "could have gone a bit longer"
Seeing as Suits' penultimate season concluded with quite the bang for Harvey Specter (and Donna Paulsen), it's no surprise actor Gabriel Macht is reluctant for the show to end.
Gabriel, who plays Harvey, chatted to TVLine about the legal drama's upcoming "bittersweet" axe, acknowledging that the series could have "gone a little bit longer".
Suits will end with its ninth season some time next year (we suspect), but many fans want the series to continue after nine years of following all of its twists and turns. And the meteoric rise of one of its stars, of course.
"I see where it could have gone a little bit longer, but I also see that nine years is, like… how often do any shows make it this far?" Gabriel argued. "We have such a solid fanbase."

He explained: "It's all over the world, and for the fans that have stuck with the show for this long, they want it to go forever."
As much as he understands fans' enthusiasm, though, Gabriel reckons it's for the best that Suits closes its final case sooner rather than later.
"There's another side of me that says, 'This is a long time, and it was a great run, a fantastic run, and it's time to work out some of the other muscles'," he said.
"I’m looking to strengthen some other creative elements in my life. It’s a good thing to go and challenge yourself in other ways and tell some different stories, and try and play some characters that are the complete opposite of Harvey."
Before we get ahead of ourselves, we should note that it was only days ago when Suits' eighth season ended with a surprise – and steamy – cliffhanger.
The twist was a crowd-pleasing moment, sure, but the season finale wasn't always going to end the way it did, with creator Aaron Korsh recently revealing exactly how the last-minute script change came about.
Suits airs on USA in the US and on Netflix in the UK, and will return for a ninth and final season.
