The Summer I Turned Pretty's Rain Spencer promoted to series regular for season 2
The Summer I Turned Pretty season 2 will feature Belly Conklin's best pal Taylor Jewel much more prominently, it's been revealed.
Set to return to streaming next Friday (July 14) with a three-episode jackpot, this romantic drama is a Prime Video release and brings to life author Jenny Han's book trilogy.
Ahead of that calendar-worthy date, The Wrap has learned that actress Rain Spencer was promoted to a series regular for the new episodes.

During season 1 of The Summer I Turned Pretty, Taylor ruffled a few feathers by kissing Belly's brother Steven (played by Sean Kaufman) while he was dating Shayla (Minnie Mills).
As for the new season, she's ready to "give Belly honest advice about her love triangle with the Fisher boys (Christopher Briney and Gavin Casalegno) and lead some shenanigans."
Judging by the trailer, Taylor's romance with Steven looks to be alive and well, too.

Back in June 2022, Jeremiah actor Gavin Casalegno exclusively discussed his character's sexuality with Digital Spy.
"[Jeremiah being openly queer] was so important in just making it relatable," he began.
"I feel like it was such an important part to bring into the show just because of the world we live in today, and it wouldn't do it justice. I'm honoured to be a part of exploring that and having that on film and just honoured to be exploring that with Jeremiah."
In Han's original source material, Jeremiah was a straight guy, and the author told DS: "I thought that was a really good opportunity for the character, where I think if I was writing it now, I probably would have done that because I think Jeremiah is really comfortable in his own skin and he is at ease with himself."
The Summer I Turned Pretty season 2 premieres July 14 on Prime Video.
