A city centre bar has reopened its outdoor beer garden and has plans on expanding it even further. Purecraft, on Waterloo Street, occupies an enviable position near the Council House with views over the Floozie in the Jacuzzi and Victoria Square.

Purecraft has had an outdoor terrace in the past but the bar says that it has plans to expand around the entire building in the coming weeks once pedestrianisation of the area is complete. For now, the seating is for those supping on pints of Purity Brewing Co beer, pub menu and Sunday roasts.

The venue serves traditional pub grub like fish and chips, burgers, wings and strips as well as dishes like beer-brined chicken, roasted butternut squash curry and small plates. The bar snacks are particularly popular with options like a traditional pork pie with Purity cider jelly and picalilli and homemade sausage rolls.

Kate Millington from Purecraft said: "We've opened the outdoor seating as there are very few beer gardens where you can get great beer and good honest food."

Customers shared their joy at the new terrace opening. Martin Price said: "Stunnin'. No notes." Brian Cape added: "Lovely, looking forward to enjoying a cold Longhorn very soon!"
