Sunshine comes to abrupt end as yellow warning for rain in place for West Lothian

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain to start on Wednesday (May 22) and will last until Thursday (May 2) for West Lothian.

Forecasters advised people to check if their property could be at risk of flooding and to prepare a plan if this is the case. It also states to give yourself to check road conditions if driving to avoid delays, or bus and train timetables, amending travel plans if necessary.

Deputy Chief Meteorologist Dan Rudman reported: “Low pressure is going to influence our weather from the middle of this week, bringing some heavy rain to parts of the UK. Eastern areas are most likely to see the highest rainfall accumulations, though this will depend on the precise positioning of the low pressure.

"It is important to keep an eye on the forecast as the detail becomes clearer, and it is possible severe weather warnings will also be issued.”
