Super cute moment first tiger cub born in Wales practices her 'roar'

A zoo has welcomed its first tiger cub to be born in Wales. Zaza, who is a Sumatran tiger cub, was born on Tuesday, May 25, at Manor Wildlife Park in Tenby.

A video clip has emerged showing the Pembrokeshire tiger cub practising her roar. According to Manor Wildlife Park, Zaza's birth has come as a huge milestone, not only for the park, but also for wildlife conservation in Wales.

The Sumatran tiger is one of the world's most endangered tiger subspecies and faces "severe" threats from habitat loss and poaching, according to Manor Wildlife Park. They added that Zaza's arrival brought "renewed focus" to the importance of protecting these "majestic" creatures and their natural habitats.

The animal manager at the park, Rick Newtown, said they were "overjoyed" to welcome a new addition to their family. He added: "This birth is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our team, who have worked tirelessly to create an environment where these magnificent animals can thrive. Zaza's arrival is a beacon of hope for the conservation of Sumatran tigers, and we are committed to ensuring she grows up healthy and strong."

According to the park, Zaza and her mother, Terima, received the "best possible care" during pregnancy and birth. Since then, Zaza has been "thriving" and has been "bonding beautifully" with her mother Terima. The park has also said that visitors to Manor Wildlife Park will now have the opportunity to see Zaza as she begins to venture out of her den and explore her surroundings.
