Super League card watch as Hull FC still top unwanted total but season sees welcome first

Super League is operating under new head contact guidelines this season, with the governing body warning more cards will be handed out for head-high contact. Here is a rundown of every sin bin and sending off.

The St Helens dummy-half was sin-binned for an obstruction in Saints' win at Huddersfield.

18. Sam Powell, Warrington: Yellow
The Wire hooker saw yellow for a high tackle on Jack Walker.

17. Fa'amanu Brown, Hull FC: Red
The Hull FC hooker was dismissed after making contact with Ben Currie's head. It was clearly an accidental clash, but it didn't stop the words 'forceful' and 'dangerous' being used.

16. Sam Lisone, Leeds Rhinos: Yellow
The Leeds prop was sin-binned for a high shot on Elliot Minchella.

15. James Donaldson, Leeds Rhinos: Yellow
The forward was yellow carded for a high shot on James Donaldson. The challenge quite easily could have been red, with Sky Sports pundit Jon Wilkin letting loose at half-time.

Round One - 13

13. Jordan Crowther, Warrington Wolves: Yellow
The Warrington forward was sent off for an off-the-ball challenge, with referee Chris Kendal deeming he made contact with the head of a Catalans player.

12. Micky McIlorum, Catalans Dragons: Red
The hooker was dismissed for a high shot on Warrington prop Joe Philbin.

11. Liam Watts, Castleford Tigers: Red
Liam Watts saw red for a head contact on Wigan prop Tyler Dupree. The initial contact was made by Joe Westerman, but despite some seemingly mitigating factors, it was Watts who was sent off.

10. Harry Smith, Wigan Warriors: Yellow
The half-back was carded for a dangerous lift tackle on Castleford full-back Luke Hooley. The video referee, as Castleford head coach Craig Lingard revealed post-match, recommended a red card, but on-field referee Tom Grant opted for yellow.

9. Ricky Leutele, Leigh Leopards: Yellow
The centre was sent to the bin for dangerous contact on Huddersfield star Jake Connor.

8. John Asiata, Leigh Leopards: Yellow
The forward was yellow-carded in the first-half for a professional foul on Huddersfield winger Adam Swift.

The hooker was sin-binned for non-related foul play, instead holding down in the tackle.

The Rovers hooker was sin-binned for making contact with Ligi Sao's head, with the incident bringing another coming together between both sets of players.

2. Franklin Pele, Hull FC: Red
Pele was sent off for a swinging arm on Elliot Minichella just before half-time. His first hit was excellent, sending the Rovers forward to the deck, but the subsequent flop landed him in hot water, with a red card issued after a 26-man scuffle.

1. Herman Ese’ese, Hull FC: Yellow
The prop was the first player to be carded this season, with a high tackle on Rovers back rower Kelepi Tanginoa punished with a sin bin in the first-half of Thursday's Hull derby.
