'He was supposed to be going on holiday with his friends next week - we just want him home'

The mum of a teenager from Oldham has said she 'just wants him home' as he remains missing after six days.

Dillon Duffy, 18, went missing from the Chadderton area last Tuesday (June 18). His mum Donna Duffy said she had dropped him close to the Asda supermarket on Milne Street at around 8am and that he was supposed to go to his nearby workplace from there - but never showed up.

Dillon is believed to have caught a train from Manchester Piccadilly at around 3.35pm that afternoon to Stoke. He then caught a train from there to London Euston, with his last known sighting at the station in the capital - around 200 miles from home.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News today (June 24), Donna said she and her family still haven't heard anything from Dillon. She said there has no been activity on his social media accounts or his online banking.

She added that the teenager has been classed as 'low-risk' by police because he is 18 but that his disappearance was out of character. Donna said: "This is why we're doing a lot of social media posts ourselves now.

"There's not much the police can do as he's an 18-year-old boy. But I'm just worried for my son, I just want to know where he is. We think he's got no money. There's been no activity on social media.

"There's been no bank transactions, nothing. It's like he's disappeared almost.

"I understand that he's an 18-year-old boy and he can do what he wants, but I just want him to reach out and tell me that he's safe. We're all just really worried."

Donna said Dillon usually lives at home and would see his family everyday. "He has a holiday booked to Zante and he's supposed to be going with all his friends on the 2nd", she added.

Dillon's dad travelled to London to search the area around Euston station but has since had to return home. On Friday, the Metropolitan Police issued an appeal for help to track down the teenager.

The force shared two images of him, including one showing what he was last wearing, and wrote: "Dillon, 18, is missing from Greater #Manchester. Dillon got a train to #Euston on the evening of 18 June. He was wearing a black hooded jacket, grey cap, black tracksuit bottoms and black and grey trainers. If you have seen Dillon please call 101 quote ref 01/491880/24."

Dillon is believed to have a novelty blanket with a 'The Simpsons' design on it with him. The 18-year-old is described as being a white male who is around 5ft 9in tall and of medium build.

His 'dirty blonde hair' is cut 'very short'. Dillon was last seen wearing a dark grey North Face zip-up hooded jacket, which has a white logo on the front left-side of the chest.

He was also wearing black slim-fitting tracksuit bottoms and black and grey Nike trainers with white soles. Dillon was also spotted wearing a beige baseball cap and carrying a black Puma backpack in the CCTV images released of him.

Any information on Dillon's whereabouts can be reported to the Met Police by calling 101 with the quote ref 01/491880/24.
