Surrey Police investigate crash as cyclist is found dead in the road

Surrey Police are investigating after a cyclist has been found dead in the road. Officers are appealing for witnesses following a single vehicle collision in Peaslake.

Police were called to Lawbrook Lane in Peaslake at just after 8.30am on Friday, May 17, by South East Coast Ambulance Service after a cyclist was found unresponsive in the road. The cyclist, a man in his 50s, died at the scene.

Surrey Police said the man's next of kin have been made aware and are being supported. They add that enquiries are underway to establish the circumstances.

A police appeal says: "Were you in the area around Lawbrook Lane between around 08.15am and 08.35am this morning? Do you have any CCTV, dash cam or helmet cam footage that might have captured all or part of this incident?

"If you have any information that might assist our investigation, please get in touch quoting PR/45240055573."
