Surrey Police investigation into serious Woking crash leaves major road closed for more than 13 hours

A major road in Woking remains shut while Surrey Police investigate a serious crash. Officers remain at the scene more than 13 hours after the collision, which has left a busy stretch of Maybury Hill has been closed.

Police initially responded to emergency calls at 10.40pm on Monday, July 8, and officers have since closed the road at its junction with Oriental Road and Maybury Road. Details of the crash are yet to be released.

The road was still closed at time of writing (noon on Tuesday, July 9) and it is not currently known when it will reopen. SurreyLive has contacted Surrey Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service for more details.

A Surrey Police spokesperson said: "We are currently dealing with a serious collision which occurred in Woking last night (8 July). The incident took place near the railway bridge in Maybury Hill around 10.40pm.

"The road remains closed at the junction with Oriental Road and Maybury Road. If you witnessed the collision, or you have any other information which could help, please contact us via Messenger quoting ref PR/SYP-20240708-0823."
