A Surrey Wagamama is one of a select few introducing a tantalising new brunch menu to its extensive Asian offerings for the first time. From next week diners will be able to enjoy brunch at 22 restaurants across the country.

The new menu that combines elements from all-time Wagamama favourites with a breakfast twist, as well as exciting new interpretations of brunch classics will be served between 8.30am- 11.30am from Wednesday, July 17.

The chain's branch in Guildford will be offering small plates, larger plates or sharing options. Wagamama fans will also be able to enjoy brunch at a handful of restaurants just across the border in London, including Kingston, Wimbledon, Royal Festival Hall on the Southbank and Battersea Power Station. Customers in Horsham in West Sussex will also be able to enjoy brunch menu.

Highlights from the new brunch menu include the chicken katsu waffle, a fusion of two iconic dishes: the waffle and katsu chicken, featuring a perfectly golden-brown waffle topped with Wagamama's renowned crispy panko-crusted chicken.

Alternatively, customers can opt for a savoury or sweet topping for their waffle, choosing either the classic katsu sauce or a miso caramel vegan ice cream with rich toffee sauce. For those seeking a plant-based option, Wagamama will offer indulgent banana katsu waffles, promising a sweet, soft and crunchy dish.

Responding to customer demand for bao buns, Wagamama has developed a series of 'morning baos'. These fluffy buns come filled with a choice of bacon, sausage, vegan bacon or vegan sausage, reports Wales Online.

The menu will also feature tempting sides such as crispy Japanese-style corn fritters and bold, flavourful bang bang hash browns. These are perfect for sharing so everyone can have a taste.

In addition to the food, Wagamama is introducing a range of new drinks to its brunch menu, including cocktails and mocktails. Standouts include a breakfast in Tokyo, a sweet and zesty papaya gin with a blood orange and yuzu sherbet kick, topped with prosecco, and a spicy mary, their take on a classic served with haku vodka, soy, teriyaki and spices (also available as a mocktail).

Mindful mocktails are also on the menu, featuring options like the fiery spiced plum, orange and ginger juice and an espresso coke to which customers can add a scoop of miso caramel vegan ice cream. For coffee lovers, Wagamama is partnering with London-born coffee brand, Grind, to offer a selection of lattes and americanos.

Come July, Wagamama and Grind will hit the road with the 'Grind bus'. Wagamama continues its partnership with Jenki, introducing the delicious new matcha latte and the iced strawberry and matcha latte.

For those seeking something lighter, they can opt for the refreshing, revitalising acai bowls with fresh fruit, toasted soya wow butter and crunchy granola. Also on offer is a creamy chia and coconut overnight oats topped with nourishing mandarin and sour cherry.

Wagamama's chief marketing officer, Kay Bartlett, said: "We've seen an increase in consumer demand for an all-day dining offering and appetite for brunch dishes. This announcement is in response to that, and we're thrilled to introduce our Wagamama take on brunch.

"The decision to open our restaurants at 8.30am has involved a great amount of hard work and dedication from our brilliant teams and we're all really proud and excited about this latest round of innovation and chapter in the Wagamama story."
