A suspect has been named after a report of tragedy chanting outside Anfield.

Police received a call at around 12.25pm on Sunday, April 14 that a man reportedly made comments mocking the Hillsborough tragedy outside the main stand of Anfield Stadium. The man was detained and later arrested by officers.

The tragedy chanting reportedly happened during the match between Liverpool and Crystal Palace. Stuart Rutter, aged 40, of Blue Cedar Drive, Streetly, appeared at South Sefton Magistrates Court on Sunday, April 14, where he was charged with a public order offence.
