Suspect Shot After Aiming 'AR-15-Style Rifle' At Officers, Ohio Police Say

A man was shot and injured by police after leading officers on a high-speed chase and pointing a rifle at them on May 5, Huber Heights Police said.

Footage released by Huber Heights Police shows dashcam footage from one of the officers involved in the chase.

Police said they were first called to a road rage incident near Chambersburg Road, where a victim said the suspect had shot out a car window and rammed the victim’s vehicle.

The suspect was located at a nearby Shell station, where he led officers on a chase after attempts to get him to stop.

Officers attempted a PIT maneuver which failed, footage shows.

Eventually the suspect came to a stop on a lawn outside a residence. The footage cuts off just as the suspect is seen aiming what police called a “black AR-15-style rifle” at approaching officers.

The suspect was shot by police and collapsed on the property where he had exited his vehicle.

He was taken, with non-life-threatening injuries, to hospital, where he remains, police said.

Charges in the case are currently being reviewed. Credit: Huber Heights Police via Storyful
