A SUSPECT has been arrested following reports of a burglary at a bowling alley.

Cheshire Police attended Winwick Quay in the early hours of Friday morning, assisted by Cheshire and North Wales Police Dogs Unit.

A man was located in the building and subsequently arrested.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At 1.35am on Friday, June 28, police were called to reports of an alarm activation at Tenpin bowling alley, Chetham Court, Warrington.

“Officers attended the scene and a 52-year-old local man was located inside the building by a police dog.

“The man was arrested on suspicion of burglary other than a dwelling and theft.

“He has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries and he is next set to report to police on Friday, August 23.”

Cheshire and North Wales Police Dogs Unit added: “PD Vandal and his handler assisted Warrington police officers over reports of a burglary at Tenpin bowling alley.

“The suspect was swiftly located and arrested inside the premises.

“They may not have won at bowling, but he can ‘strike’ a pose for his mugshot.”
