Suspected drug-driver arrested after vehicle flips in crash

A suspected drug-driver was arrested after a crash in Tameside this morning.

The smash happened on Sheffield Road in Hyde at around 9.30am on Sunday (April 14). It involved two vehicles, police said.

Pictures showed one vehicle left overturned on its side in the road. A number of police cars were called to the scene.

A 36-year-old man was arrested. He was arrested on suspicion of of taking without consent, dangerous driving, possession of Class B drugs and having no insurance.

He also provided a 'positive drugs sample. a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said. No-one is believed to have suffered any serious injuries in the incident.
