Sydney Sweeney Becomes a Rock ‘n Roll Idol in New Rolling Stones Music Video – Watch

Sydney Sweeney idolizes The Rolling Stones in music video “Angry.”

The “Euphoria” star is shown dancing and singing while riding on the back of a red convertible, much like a scene out of her “Euphoria” creator Sam Levinson’s short-lived “The Idol.” Rolling Stones members Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood are billboards come to life while a leather-clad Sweeney gyrates in a passing car.

“Angry” is the first single off The Rolling Stones’ brand new studio album “Hackney Diamonds,” available October 20. This is the Stones’ first album since 2016’s “Blue & Lonesome” and the first since longtime drummer Charlie Watts’ death in 2021; it’s been 18 years since the iconic band released original music. Two tracks from “Hackney Diamonds” will feature Watts’ drumming, with the rest of the album featuring touring drummer Steve Jordan.

Emmy-nominated actress Sweeney told ABC News that she “freaked out” after The Rolling Stones reached out to her to star in “Angry.”

“I freaked out and called my family,” Sweeney said. “This is the biggest thing ever. I didn’t know it was going to be the first single but I love the song, it’s stuck in my head.”

The “Anyone But You” star is styled by longtime stylist Molly Dickson for the music video, wearing a leather bustier from Versace and studded leather chaps from Los Angeles-based designer Zana Bayne, as Vogue reported.

And this isn’t the first time Sweeney has been shocked by her own industry success: The “Reality” actress previously told IndieWire that after landing two Emmy nominations for “Euphoria” and “The White Lotus,” respectively, in 2022, she was “in shock.”

“I don’t even know who I talked to. I can’t remember a single thing,” Sweeney said. “It truly felt like I was living a dream.”

She continued, “It definitely feels like people are paying attention and I like to find projects and characters that put people on their toes and don’t really expect to see from me. That’s what makes it exciting.”

Up next, Sweeney is set to reprise her role as Cassie in “Euphoria” for Season 3, as well as lead (and produce) “Immaculate” and a remake of “Barbarella.” Sweeney also is playing Julia Carpenter, the Marvel Comics character who becomes Spider-Woman, in Sony’s Marvel entry “Madame Web,” out February 14 next year.
