Euphoria fans, rejoice!

In a new interview with MTV's Josh Horowitz, Sydney Sweeney revealed that she’s getting ready to make her way back to the set of the hit HBO series — and the return is coming way sooner than fans may expect.

“So you’re going to take a little time off after all this madness?” Horowitz asked Sweeney, 26, referring to her non-stop slate in the last few months, between Anyone But You, Madame Webb, Saturday Night Live and Immaculate, her new horror film, which premiered at SXSW on Tuesday.

Instead, Sweeney's schedule is only getting crazier as she shared: “I go into Euphoria.”

The actress played coy as Horowitz asked more questions about the long-awaited third season of the show, including responding to whether she’s seen a script. “Maybe. I don’t know,” she said.

Sweeney is ready to dive back into the show's melodramatic world after a more than two-year pause between seasons. “I always feel like I go home,” she said of returning to the show. “It’s like home when I go back to it. I like it.”

Of her dynamic on set with her costars, including Zendaya, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer and Maude Apatow, Sweeney added: “I’m excited, it’s like family.”

PEOPLE previously confirmed that production on season 3 of Euphoria would begin in 2024. The confirmation followed a November 2023 special presentation of the HBO and Max 2024 content slate, revealing that the show’s next installment won’t premiere until 2025.

In January, Colman Domingo — a recurring guest star on the show who plays Ali, a 12-step sponsor for Rue (Zendaya), a recovering addict — joked to PEOPLE that season 3 will “take place in a nursing home in southeast Los Angeles” at this point, given how much time has passed since season 2 was filmed and released.

He also confirmed that filming was set to begin this year, but had nothing else to share regarding the show.

“I can share nothing,” he said, revealing that he hadn’t “seen anything,” but that creator Sam Levinson is “very excited about it.”

Fans have a lot of questions about what season 3 will bring for the gaggle of troublemaking teens, and not only because season 2 ended with Ashtray (Javon Walton) gunned down in his home by police and Fez (Angus Cloud) also shot.

In August, Cloud died of an accidental drug overdose, leaving a major hole in the hearts of the Euphoria cast and fans, and prompting questions as to what the fate of his character will be. Domingo called the death a “significant loss.”

"He was a young man who struggled, but he was such a bright light. He truly was," Domingo also told PEOPLE. "People say that about people all the time, but this was true. He was kind, he was warm, and he just had a spark."

Sweeney, along with the rest of the cast, has also reflected on the loss, which she said was “such a shock” in an interview with Glamour. "[My costars and I] were constantly on the phone with each other crying,” she said before reflecting on how it’ll affect season 3.

“I don’t think it’ll truly feel real or hit me until we’re filming and I won’t see Angus on set,” she said. “When we are filming, all of our eyes are on each other and we’re there for each other, just in a different way than we’re able to when we’re all in very separate places in the world. It’s really interesting when someone passes away in our industry, because they’re still alive in so many forms.”

Barbie Ferreira also announced her departure from the series in August 2022 after season 2 wrapped. "After four years of getting to embody the most special and enigmatic character kat, I'm having to say a very teary eyed goodbye," she previously wrote on her Instagram Story.

"I hope many of you could see yourself in her like I did and that she brought you joy to see her journey into the character she is today," the Nope actress, 27, added. "I put all my care and love into her and I hope you guys could feel it. Love you Katherine Hernandez."

Euphoria's first two seasons are streaming in full on Max.
