Syrian Army Helicopters Drop Leaflets Over East Aleppo Showing Locations of Exit Corridors

Clashes reportedly erupted at a humanitarian corridor in Aleppo’s Bustan al-Qasr on Thursday, October 20, just hours after a unilateral ceasefire went into effect to evacuate civilians and fighters from the city’s opposition-held eastern districts.

Syrian army helicopters dropped thousands of leaflets in eastern Aleppo, with a guide to the locations of the exit corridors, Syrian state news agency SANA reported. The corridors include six exits for civilians and two more routes for rebel fighters.

Fateh al-Sham (Jabhat al-Nusra) rejected the deal, suggesting that it would signify a surrender. Pro-regime newspaper Tishreen reported that “terrorists” targeted Bustan al-Qasr with shells and snipers. Regime medical personnel withdrew from the location due to the shelling, according to the same report.
