Take That to perform live to mark release of Greatest Days movie

Take That are set to perform live to mark the release of the new movie based on the band.

Greatest Days is being unveiled on 15 June and it has now been confirmed that Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald will be performing live at the premiere event in London.

Audiences will also be able to enjoy the performance in cinemas nationwide at premiere previews taking place that same night.

The film is based on hit stage musical The Band.

The show – which features music from Take That – tells the story of a group of friends who all loved the same band and were best friends as teenagers, who then reunite 25 years later to see the group perform.

Take That are all executive producers on the film, which stars Aisling Bea, Alice Lowe, Jayde Adams, Amaka Okafor and Marc Wootton.

The new trailer shows the group as schoolgirls, before they come together again years later.

It also reveals that songs including Never Forget, Back For Good, Shine, Rule The World and Greatest Days will feature in the film.

Barlow and co previously said the movie would be “dedicated to all those who have supported us throughout the years”.

“It puts a mirror on our audience – it's a celebration of our music but it's literally all about the fans and their friendships,” they said in a statement.

Fans could barely contain their excitement after the trailer dropped.

"Saturday lunch cocktails and cinema pencilled in," one tweeted.

"Omg goosebumps," said another.

"Oh my goodness, so many tears will be shed as this show is so darn emotional & life affirming!!" said somebody else.

Greatest Days is out in the UK on 16 June, with previews on 15 June.
