Tamworth general election results for 2024

Sarah Edwards has won the Tamworth seat for Labour Party in the 2024 general election with 15,338 votes. She retains the seat having won it in a by-election last year.

The Conservatives came second with 13,956 votes in the seat which was for former Walsall North MP Eddie Hughes. It leaves Labour with a majority of just 1,382.

The people of Tamworth are well-drilled in elections - it had one last year. The constituency found itself at the centre of a Boris Johnson storm in recent years when then-MP Chris Pincher played a major role in his departure.

When that played out, the people of Tamworth voted in Labour candidate Sarah Edwards last year.

Brian Jenkins was the Tamworth MP for Labour throughout the Tony Blair years before Mr Pincher took over when David Cameron swept to power in 2010.
