The hosts for Taskmaster spin-off, Junior Taskmaster, have officially been announced.

Fans of the show will recognise two familiar faces from the main Channel 4 series, with Rose Matafeo and Mike Wozniak taking over the thrones.

Rose, who competed in series 9, will be taking on the Taskmaster role, assigning points to the five junior contestants after they take part in the tasks.

"To be appointed as Junior Taskmaster is one of the greatest honours of my already wildly successful career," she said.

"I am greatly looking forward to the power going to my head."

Meanwhile, Mike will be on hand as The Junior Taskmaster's Assistant, taking notes and recording contestants' attempts at the tasks.

"All I ever wanted to be when I grew up was a Little Alex Horne (or a regional manager for a major provider of motorway service stations) so this is literally a dream come true," said Mike, who took part in series 11.

"I hereby vow to do my utmost to hold the office of Junior Taskmaster's Assistant in the spirit of the original Little Alex Horne: with his courage, his grit and his dignity."

Channel 4 recently commissioned the junior spin-off after the censored version of the show has seen continual growth with younger viewers and family audiences.

Show creator 'Little' Alex Horne previously explained why he wouldn't be continuing his duties on the new version, saying: "I've watched many, many comedians flounder when given simple instructions over the past few years and I fully expect the competitors in Junior Taskmaster to be both more competent and just as funny.

"For that series, I will be handing over my assistant's clipboard to someone equally as efficient and persistent as myself because I have a lot more admin to do with six further handfuls of supposedly talented adults.

"I live for bureaucracy, so this is all excellent news."

Host Greg Davies added: "My long-term contempt for young people is a matter of record but other people here at Taskmaster HQ seem convinced that they have merit.

"I am thrilled that two new team members are putting this questionable hypothesis to the test and will take on the challenge of corralling and assessing them on television."

He continued: "I will be watching closely to ensure standards are met. I am also delighted that Alex and I return to test the intelligence of comedians in the most scientific of ways.

"I'll be pretty angry. It's not even an act anymore."

Taskmaster airs on Channel 4, where Junior Taskmaster will also premiere.
