Yahoo News Taskmaster series 16 announces brand new lineup – including Bake Off legend

Former Bake Off star Sue Perkins leads the cast of Taskmaster's 16th series.
Fresh on the heels of the show crowning its latest winner on Thursday (June 1), Greg Davies and Little Alex Horne will soon have a new crop of celebrities to test with their maddening tasks.
As mentioned, Sue Perkins will make her debut on the Channel 4 series — and her love of silliness will surely make her a top contender to conquer even the most absurd tasks.

Also joining the lineup for series 16 will be Susan Wokoma, the writer/actress/comedian best known for playing Edith in Netflix's Enola Holmes movies as well as the lead in BBC One's sitcom Cheaters.
Julian Clary has been making audiences laugh on Channel 4 for 40 years, having regularly appeared on the pioneering comedy show Friday Night Live in the 1980s. He also won Celebrity Big Brother — so he also has experience with goofy tasks!
Australian comedian Sam Campbell is known to UK viewers for appearing in Channel 4 comedy Stath Lets Flats, and recently received a UK National Comedy Award nomination for his stand-up show Comedy Show.
Rounding off the lineup for series 16 will be actress and comedian Lucy Beaumont, a popular panellist on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Have I Got News For You, among others.
Channel 4 teases: "All five are vying to win points, prizes, and eternal glory in hope of winning the coveted golden trophy along with bragging rights as the Taskmaster Series 16 Champion."
On top of this exciting news about the original show, Channel 4 has also confirmed the former contestant Rose Matafeo will be the new Junior Taskmaster on a spinoff, with Mike Wozniak as her assistant.
"To be appointed as Junior Taskmaster is one of the greatest honours of my already wildly successful career," Rose said. "I am greatly looking forward to the power going to my head."
Taskmaster series 15 airs and streams on Thursday nights at 9pm on Channel 4. Six further series and a spin-off, Junior Taskmaster, have been confirmed.
