Taylor Swift fans heading to Cardiff's Principality Stadium to see the long-awaited Eras tour have been asked not to camp overnight outside the venue ahead of the show. The Shake it Off singer is visiting the Welsh capital on Tuesday, June 18, and the team at the Principality are asking those attending not to start queuing overnight on Monday.

Organisers say that there will be no place to camp on the stadium grounds that are outside the ticket gates for "safeguarding reasons" while a queuing system would be in place on the day of the gig itself.

In their guide to fans they say: "For safeguarding reasons camping on the stadium footprint prior to the concert is strictly forbidden. Queuing is permitted on show day only. Portaloos for queuing fans will be positioned at every gate. Please refer to your allocated gate on your ticket."

Taylor Swift fans are famous for their dedication and often wait for hours to get close to their idol while respecting each other's ticket order. The mega pop star's Cardiff gig is her latest as part of her UK tour which has already seen her visit Edinburgh and Liverpool.

As well as queues for the gig itself, there have already been long queues for the merchandise stands - with some fans getting their hands on keepsakes as much as 30 hours before the gates opened. Some merchandise vendors opened on Monday morning - you can read more about that here.

Part of the city is expected to come to a standstill on Tuesday afternoon in the run up to the gig. There will be several city centre road closures in place from the afternoon and public transport is expected to be very busy. You can read all about what plans are in place here.

Can you still get tickets to Taylor?

While official tickets were released and snapped up back in August 2023, there are still ways to get involved - even this close to the show.

Just over a week before the Cardiff date, a number of ‘partially obstructed limited view’ tickets were released for the show. These are typically initially held back by event organisers before they know just how much of the stadium's seated capacity will be taken up by the set. Now that the UK tour is in full swing and production staff know how much space is needed they have been made available.

Fans who registered for tickets last year but missed out may receive a code from Ticketmaster to enter the site’s queue. Hopefuls will only be able to purchase last minute tickets through official sites with a code.

Tickets are also available through third party resale sites such as Viagogo and VividSeats. Ticket prices range from as little as £469 to £1,5141 for Cardiff from Viagogo, at the time of writing. It is important to stress that many event promoters say tickets should not be resold after initial purchase and will not be valid for admittance to gigs.

Fans attending live events with tickets acquired through resale websites are advised to double check the ticket terms and conditions at the point of sale.
