Taylor Swift is officially the biggest selling act of 2023

Taylor Swift’s global domination is official after the international record industry found she sold more music than any other act last year.

The singer was named the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) 2023 Global Recording Artist of the Year after huge worldwide sales across streaming, downloading and physical formats including vinyl.

Swift has now won the award more than any other act having topped the chart in 2014, 2019 and 2022.

The most recent win comes after she released three albums last year and embarked on her record breaking Eras tour.

Earlier this month, the 34-year-old US megastar made Grammy history as the first person to win album of the year four times and used the ceremony to announce she is releasing a new album, The Tortured Poets Department, on April 19.

Her 2023 success saw her tour become the highest grossing of all time, taking in more than a billion dollars, while a film version was a box office hit.

Her private life, including a split from UK actor Joe Alwyn and her high profileromance with American footballer Travis Kelce, saw her stay in the headlines with Time Magazine naming her person of the year.

Other big sellers in 2023 include K-Pop stars SEVENTEEN and Stray Kids who placed second and third respectively while US country star Morgan Wallen and Lana Del Rey also featured in top 10.
