Taylor Swift has nothing but love for her fans in Cardiff!

Following the latest stop on her record-breaking Eras Tour in Wales on Tuesday, June 18, the 34-year-old singer praised the crowd for their enthusiasm at the show in an Instagram post.

“Cardiff!! My first time playing in Wales and that was truly out of control in the best way - looking out into that massive, bouncing, dancing sea of people,” the performer wrote. “I’ll never forget it. I’m absolutely living for these UK crowds.”

Swift’s concert in Cardiff is the latest on her tour de force across Europe after she kicked off the European leg of the Eras Tour with several setlist and costume changes at a four-night stint in Paris in May. (She donned a Chiefs red and yellow two-piece when her boyfriend and football star Travis Kelce supported her in the audience on the fourth night in Paris.)

During the show in Cardiff — the 103rd since the Eras Tour first started in March 2023 — Swift treated fans to a unique combination of songs during her acoustic set, the section of the show where she often plays a song on the guitar and another on the piano that varies at each concert date.

“I like to try to challenge myself to just do different things every single night,” Swift told the cheering crowd, before launching into a guitar medley of the Lover track “I Forgot That You Existed” and Reputation’s “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things.”

Eagle-eyed fans quickly took to social media, theorizing that the superstar chose the two songs — which are packed with casually shady lyrics like “why’d you have to rain on my parade?” and the satirical “forgiveness is a nice thing to do,” followed by an extended laugh — as a pointed reference to her long-time nemesis Scooter Braun, who was celebrating his birthday on the day of the show.

She closed out the acoustic set by debuting a Tortured Poets Department bonus track, “I Hate It Here.” (“This is a song I’ve never played live before,” the singer said to the crowd. “Wish me luck!”)

It’s likely no coincidence that Swift mashed up the track with Folklore’s “The Lakes,” which notably references the Lake District of England, not far from the location of her concert, as well as the famed 19th-century English poet William Wordsworth.

This weekend, Swift is set to bring the Eras Tour to a city long memorialized in her discography — London. As for songs that mention the English capital to treat the audience, she has many to choose from (“So Long, London,” “London Boy,” “Come Back…Be Here,” and “The Black Dog,” just to name a few!)

“Next up: our weekend at Wembley!!” Swift closed her Instagram post. “See you tomorrow London! 🇬🇧 🤍”
