On Tuesday, June 18, Cardiff transformed into Taylor's world. Iconic pop star Taylor Swift was performing in Cardiff for one night only on her The Eras Tour and the city transformed as thousands of excited fans descended on the streets surrounding the Principality Stadium bringing glitter, jewels, cowboy hats and feather boas.

Now Taylor has posted about her night in the Welsh capital, saying the crowds were "out of control" said it was an "unforgettable" night. Posting a series of pictures of her on stage to Instagram, she said: "Cardiff!! My first time playing in Wales and that was truly out of control in the best way - looking out into that massive, bouncing, dancing sea of people… I’ll never forget it. I’m absolutely living for these UK crowds. Next up: our weekend at Wembley!! See you tomorrow London!"

We'll forgive Taylor saying it was her "first" time in Wales, after all, it was her first, huge, headline show in the capital on such a grand scale. Back in 2018 she took to the stage in Swansea’s Singleton Park as part of BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend. You can see photos from that show here. Get your limited edition Taylor Swift OK! glossy mag here. Over the course of that weekend which featured other big names like Ed Sheeran, Liam Payne, 30 Seconds to Mars and Sam Smith, Taylor's crowd was surely the biggest of all, with the vast majority of the 26,000 people in attendance gathering at the main stage when she was on. She said at the time: "So this is our first time here, and we get here and it's packed and you guys are dancing and you're not just singing along but you're screaming along, which is the best!

"You kind of took my breath away when I first came out here, like you guys are killing it. You look absolutely beautiful. You actually look like a level above beautiful.” Find out about the latest events in Wales by signing up to our What's On newsletter here.

Taylor also said to the crowd at Cardiff's gig on Tuesday: "This is my very first time getting to play a show in Wales, and look at this. This is ridiculous. You got 67,000 people in here. Thank you, Cardiff." but of course, many fans were quick to forgive her. The pop star put on an unforgettable three-hour-long performance that had the crowd eating out the palm of her hand all night and for good reason including speaking Welsh a handful of times.
