Taylor Swift sparks Twitter frenzy with social media comeback teasing new music

Taylor Swift sent her fans into a tizzy this afternoon, teasing new music in an epic social media comeback.

The singer raised eyebrows on Friday [18 August] when she blacked out all of her social media channels and website, however, at 4pm this afternoon she posted a single, cryptic clip of what appears to be a snake or dragon’s tail.

Taylor did not post a caption with the clip, which has no audio, and Joseph Kahn – the man who directed her ‘Wildest Dreams’ music video – quickly retweeted the post with a smiley face emoji:

Needless to say, the star’s fans quickly went into meltdown, taking to Twitter to share their response:

Taylor is overdue releasing new music, with the 27-year-old singer typically releasing a new album every two years.

However, it has now been three years since she released her record-breaking album ‘1989’, but here’s hoping these cryptic clues mean that there will be new music available before we know it.
