Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce in awkward position over controversial monarchy comments

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce may be feeling awkward after comments the NFL star's brother made about the monarchy resurfaced.

The chart-topping star and her boyfriend rubbed shoulders with Prince William and his children Prince George and Princess Charlotte at Wembley Stadium last Friday after her first Eras Tour gig in London.

Taking to Instagram after the meeting, Taylor shared a beaming snap of herself alongside the future King, his children and her boyfriend.

But now comments made by Travis's brother Jason Kelce have gone viral as they have resurfaced following the royal encounter.

Travis and Jason host a podcast called New Heights and they recently discussed royalty while discussing Father's Day traditions in Thailand.

Hitting out at those at the very top of the class system, Jason said, "I'm out on honouring kings. Listen, we're Americans. We don't do royalty."

He bluntly added, "F**k kings. But I wouldn't mind (wife) Kylie (Kelce) kneeling at my feet."

Travis challenged Jason over his views at the time, arguing he couldn't be, "out on kings and in on people bowing," prompting Jason to respond, "I'm not into people bowing. I'm into my children bowing to me to show me respect, goddammit."

The comments are now being reviewed by Taylor's fans as many have noted that the singer and her boyfriend met Prince William days later - with the Shake It Off singer paying tribute to the future king in her Instagram selfie which she captioned, "Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start."
