A collection of Taylor Swift’s personal items will go on display at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum later this month. The Storybook Trail gives visitors a chance to see shoes, music awards, childhood memorabilia, and iconic clothes belonging to the American songstress.

Opening on July 27, the free exhibit will feature customised cowboy boots worn by Swift during 2007's Soul2Soul II Tour, where she opened for Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, as well as the black dress worn in the Fortnight music video, her collaboration with Post Malone from latest album The Tortured Poets Department.

Each of the 16 outfits on show at the South Kensington museum will represent a chapter in the Grammy Award winner’s 20 year musical journey- from Nashville to now. The installation was designed by Tom Piper, whose recent work includes the V&A’s 2021 exhibition Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser.

Kate Bailey, the museum’s senior curator, theatre and performance, said: “We are delighted to be able to display a range of iconic looks worn by Taylor Swift at the V&A this summer – each celebrating a chapter in the artist’s musical journey. Taylor Swift’s songs – like objects – tell stories, often drawing from art, history and literature. We hope this theatrical trail across the museum will inspire curious visitors to discover more about the performer, her creativity and V&A objects.”

Currently on her record breaking Eras Tour, the 34-year-old singer will return to London in August for a mammoth five day stint at Wembley Stadium. This will make her the first female artist to perform at the football grounds for more than three consecutive days.

She recently wowed crowds in Dublin when American football player boyfriend Travis Kelce joined her on stage for a surprise dance performance.

Taylor Swift: Songbook Trail will be open until September 8, with more information available at vam.ac.uk.
