Teen has part of both ears bitten off in Antrim assault at licensed premises, police say

A man in his late teens had part of both ears bitten off in an assault at a licensed premises in Antrim last night, police say.

The assault happened at premises in the High Street area of Antrim town, shortly after midnight.

The teenager was taken to hospital for treatment, police said in a statement on Sunday.

A spokesperson for the PSNI said: "Detectives are appealing for information following an assault at a licensed premises in the High Street area of Antrim, shortly before 12.10am this morning, Sunday 12th May.

"During the incident, a man, aged in his late teens, had part of each ear bitten off and attended hospital for treatment to his injuries."

Appealing for information, the police spokesperson added: "Enquiries remain ongoing and we are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything, or has mobile phone footage.
