Police are hunting a man accused of following a teenager from a London bus and through an alleyway before attacking her in the street. Hertfordshire Police have released images of a person they would like to identify following the assault on the 19-year-old woman, which left her seriously injured, near Berkley Avenue in Waltham Cross at around 7:45pm on Monday, December 30.

The woman is said to have alighted the 217 bus before walking through the town centre and then down an alleyway. Police say when she emerged she was grabbed by a man who assaulted her before he was disturbed by members of the public.

The bus the victim and suspect used had travelled from Turnpike Lane through Tottenham and Enfield before reaching Waltham Cross. Herts Police believe the man may have been on the bus and followed the woman from the bus station.
