Billionaire heiress, 15, dies in horrific accident on family's farm

The teenage daughter of British billionaire parents has died after an off-road buggy she was riding at her father’s farm overturned and trapped her underneath.

Emergency crews were called to millionaire financier Ben Goldsmith’s property in North Brewham, Somerset, on Monday to treat his daughter Iris Annabel Goldsmith.

A friend of the 15-year-old who was riding with her raised the alarm, but the “beautiful, charming, intelligent” teen could not be saved, The Sun reported.

She was the heiress of two of the country’s most powerful dynasties, being the eldest child of Mr Goldsmith and his ex-wife Kate Rothschild.

The joint fortune of the pair is believed to exceed AUD$535 million. The two families are worth billions.

At the time of the accident, her 37-year-old mother was staying at the country estate, while her father, 38, was playing cricket in Surrey, according to the Daily Mail.

Iris was the niece of Tory Richmond Park MP Zac Goldsmith and documentary film producer Jemima Khan.

She had just completed her exams and was beginning her summer break at her father’s farm when tragedy struck.

Iris was a top student at independent girls’ private boarding school Wycombe Abbey, in High Wycombe, which costs A$23,305 a term.

She was an older sister to brothers Frank, 13, and Isaac, 11, and half sister to Eliza and Arlo, the children of her father and his new wife, catering company boss Jemima Jones.

Iris’ mother and father split in 2012, with Ms Rothschild dating US rapper Jay Electronica before getting into a relationship with entrepreneur Paul Forkan.

An inquest into the teen’s death is expected to commence in the near future.

A friend of the family described the promising young academic as “wonderful company and absolutely the loveliest person you could meet”, the Daily Mail reported.

“Ben and Kate are completely devastated. They are numbed to their core and united in their grief. Iris captured the charm of Ben and the sense of Bohemian charisma of Kate. All the family are rallying round Ben and Kate.”
