Teenager stabbed after being approached by group near popular Harlow playing field

Police are trying to hunt down a group after a person was approached and stabbed twice in the leg. Essex Police were called to Nicholls Field with reports of an 18-year-old being approached by "several suspects" and suffering stab wounds.

Officers and paramedics quickly arrived at the scene and the 18-year-old's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. Now, officers are appealing for any witnesses who were in the area at the time of the incident to contact the police.

Essex Police say the incident was at around 9pm on Friday in the Nicholls Field area of Harlow. It's believed to have been witnessed by a number of people with no wider threat to the public.

Detective Inspector Karen Knibbs said: “ We believe this incident was witnessed by a number of people who may be able to assist us with understanding what happened. We’d also like to hear from anyone driving in or near Nicholls field at the time who has dashcam footage that may be useful to our investigation.

"I’d like to reassure the public that we do not believe there is a wider threat, and our officers have been patrolling that area throughout the weekend."
