Teens Arrested After Attacking McDonald's Staff in Melbourne

Four teenagers were arrested following an alleged robbery and an altercation at a McDonald’s in Melbourne, Victoria, on Wednesday, September 20, reports said.

Video captured by Kavindhi Ranasinghe shows the incident unfold over the counter at McDonald’s at the Melbourne Central shopping center.

Speaking to Storyful, Ranasinghe said she filmed the video in the hope “that the workers would have some evidence to defend themselves, and to also remind everyone to be kind to service workers as our city has had an increase of violence that feels quite prominent to me, an individual that spent their entire life in Melbourne.”

Ranasinghe said the girls were “all underaged and the workers were frightened,” and said “the manager handled the situation the best he could to protect his staff.”

According to local media, Victoria Police said the teens were suspected of carrying out a robbery at Melbourne Central Station earlier that day.
