Ten pieces of plant machinery were damaged in the New Forest, police have said.

The incident happened at Marchwood Aggregates Ltd shortly after 1am on Wednesday.

Officers from Hampshire police attended the business in Marchwood to gather further details and offer reassurance.

A post on Waterside police’s Facebook page said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident”.

New Forest East Inspector Tom Hannam said: “This was a very high-value act of criminal damage, and our teams and officers will be continuing to work hard to find those responsible.

“Officers have been in the area this morning (Wednesday) and will be continuing to make enquiries throughout the day, as well as carrying out reassurance patrols.”

The inspector added: “If you see any of the team and have any information to share with them, which may assist in our investigation, please come over and speak to them.”
