Anyone who shops at Tesco or Aldi has been warned that a few products have recently been urgently recalled due to the safety risks they could potentially pose.

The two major supermarkets have pulled some popular cupboard and fridge staples off shelves due to labelling errors and possible contamination, making them unsafe to consume.

The advice to customers is to carefully check the batch number and date of the product if you've picked it up recently instore, and if you need to return it, you'll receive a full refund - and you don't need to provide a receipt for this.

Chronicle Live reports that the Food Standards Agency (FSA) has informed customers that Tesco is recalling a relish due to the possible presence of glass, while Aldi has also pulled two steak products from sale because of a date misprint.

Shoppers have been advised to check their fridges for these products, the details of which can be found below from the FSA.
