Tesco is set to make big changes to its vegetable aisle by rolling out a brand new "Salad Creations" section in all of its larger stores.

Launching this week, the stations will be split into three distinct parts, designed to guide customers through crafting their ideal salad. To start, shoppers can pick a base, with choices such as Lettuce and Peashoot Summer Salad, then add a 'builder' like Smoked Shredded Beetroot or Extra Large Avocado.

For the final flourish, a 'topper' can be added, with Tesco offering a range of dressings including Sriracha Honey and Coconut Chilli and Lime. Additional salad items available will include Sweetheart Lettuce, Grated Carrot, Spring Onions, Zingy Corn Salsa, and a variety of dressings and croutons, alongside more exotic options like Pickled Cucumber Kimchi and Chopped Miso and Orange and Ginger Dressing.

The supermarket giant cites the surge in TikTok users sharing their salad concoctions as a key influence behind the introduction. For a limited period, Tesco Clubcard members will benefit from an offer allowing them to purchase four salad items for the price of three at the new bay.

Tesco's Prepared Salad Buying Manager, Emily Hampson, conveyed: "Salads don't have to be boring! They can be tasty, filling and suitable for many meal occasions. More exciting salads appear to be a foodie focus now, with increasingly imaginative creations with a varied range of inclusions appearing on TikTok and Instagram. Through our Salad Creations Bay we want to inspire customers to make their own best ever salads at home.", reports the Mirror.

In other supermarket developments, Tesco is revamping its Clubcard loyalty scheme, giving some shoppers the chance to bag up to £100 worth of points. The company has extended an invite to three million customers to take part in "Clubcard Challenges", catering 20 personalised tasks in the effort.
