Tesco announces details of 'price lock freeze' until Easter
Tesco has announced it will freeze prices on over a thousand products until Easter, despite inflation still running at record highs.
The supermarket chain announced the plan on 4 January and follows a similar scheme that ran from early October until the start of 2023.
Tesco UK Chief Executive, Jason Tarry, said: "As we start the New Year, we know times are tough for many of our customers right now.

"We hope this extended price lock commitment gives our customers the certainty of knowing that over a thousand household favourites and own brand essentials will stay at the same low price for months to come."

Heinz Baked Beans at 0.65p
Birds Eye 4 breaded cod cakes £1.40
Bakers Whirlers dog treats £1
Herbal Essences lime shampoo £1.95
Robinsons orange squash £1.25
Surf tropical 3in1 wash capsules £5
Sarsons malt vinegar 0.85p
Listerine mouthwash 0.99p
Tesco 4 breaded plaice fillets £5.25
Kelloggs all bran £3
Nescafe instant coffee £3
80 Tesco teabags £1
Johnson's baby shampoo £1.45
Tesco Anti-dandruff shampoo £1.10

Several supermarkets have made similar moves to Tesco, with Co-op and M&S currently observing a price freeze until the end of this month.
Asda also introduced a Blue Light Card discount scheme last year which gives some shoppers 10% off their shopping.

This was meant to end on New Year's Eve but it was extended until the end of March.
Waitrose has also unveiled a "Great Saving Event" that will last throughout January.
The deal will see the price of several household staples like Oral-B toothpaste and Twinings English Breakfast 100 Tea Bags cut by 50%.
Several Waitrose Essential meals will also have their price cut.
Other branded items will be cut by 25%.
