Tesco confirms huge new change to supermarket aisle for shoppers

Tesco is shaking up its vegetables aisle with the launch of a brand new "salad creations" section in all its larger stores.

The new addition, rolling out in shops this week, will feature three distinct sections to guide customers through crafting their ideal personalised salad. First up, pick a Tesco base options include lettuce and peashoot summer salad. Then, build it up with something like smoked shredded beetroot or an extra large avocado.

For the finishing touch, Tesco's got you covered with dressings such as sriracha honey and coconut chilli and lime. The range also boasts sweetheart lettuce, grated carrot, spring onions, zingy corn salsa, and a variety of dressings and toppings like caesar dressing, red pepper dressing, and garlic and herb croutons, among others.

This move comes as Tesco taps into the TikTok trend of users sharing snaps of their salad masterpieces. For Clubcard holders, there's a treat snag four salad items for the price of three at the new station for a short period, reports the Mirror.

Tesco's prepared salad buying manager, Emily Hampson, said: "Salads don't have to be boring! They can be tasty, filling and suitable for many meal occasions. More exciting salads appear to be a foodie focus now, with increasingly imaginative creations with a varied range of inclusions appearing on TikTok and Instagram. Through our Salad Creations Bay we want to inspire customers to make their own best ever salads at home."

In other news from the supermarket giant, Tesco is revamping its Clubcard loyalty scheme, offering some lucky shoppers the chance to bag up to £100 worth of points. The retailer is rolling out "Clubcard Challenges" to three million customers, which involves completing 20 personalised tasks.
