Tesco has issued a recall for one of its sandwich spreads.

Customers are being urged to return a Tesco Sandwich Pickle as it may contain a piece of glass. Because of this, customers are also being asked to refrain from eating the item as it is unsafe.

The 295g pack with the batch code 3254 will have the best before date of 11 September 2025. Customers returning the product will receive a full refund and will not have a receipt on them.

The supermarket giant has issued an apology to customers for "any inconvenience caused" and is urging customers who need further details to contact their Customer Services directly on 0800 505 555.

Explaining more about product recalls and withdrawals, the Food Standards Agency added: "If there is a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold, then it might be 'withdrawn' (taken off the shelves) or 'recalled' (when customers are asked to return the product).

"The FSA issues Product Withdrawal Information Notices and Product Recall Information Notices to let consumers and local authorities know about problems associated with food. In some cases, a 'Food Alert for Action' is issued. This provides local authorities with details of specific action to be taken on behalf of consumers."
